For over a decade I've been playing with music production as a hobby. I've gotten more serious about it over the years. I like to stay close to the experimental side of things. I love seeing what can be done with 3D binaural audio (HRTF). I've begun to take sample collection and recording really seriously as of late.
I have musical ADD where I can't stick with one particular sound long enough to have any meaningful EP or album. One day I'll get really into Clark's sound design and then the next I'm trying to make some cyberpunk synthwave banger. I think it helps me be more flexible with what I can work on, but it doesn't allow me to perfect a particular sound. I do really well with direction, though, as I've found out when providing my buddy with a score to his short films.
I primarily mix with headphones using Audeze LCD-Xs. My interface is an RME Fireface UFX III. I have a Thermionic Culture Vulture that I experiment with. I have a Digitakt MK1 & MK2 and a Syntakt. I have a medium-sized eurorack setup that I've built over the years. Rather than list my entire eurorack setup, I'll just mention my voices are the DPO, 0-Coast, Strega, and Morphagene.
When starting out in 2010 I couldn't for the life of me get into the interface of FL Studio. I really enjoy using Reason and now I'm stuck with it a decade later. I recently studied music production for a college credit and now I have a baseline understanding of Ableton.
For what it's worth, I've also worked with Wwise but I'm also interested in other middleware solutions.
Sampled a horrifying video of 12 ASMR streamers making noises simultaneously and made it an element of a song.
Chopped up the amen break to make breakbeats. Sampled a song that I mangled with a Morphagene eurorack module.
Work in progress. Getting more familiar with the API 2500 compressor.
Learning the process of re-amping by covering a Clark track.
Sent synths through a Culture Vulture and automated M/S EQ.
Simple little beat that utilizes binarual panning and binaural field recordings.
A beat heavy bass heavy track.
A track inspired by Mick Gordon's work on the DOOM soundtrack.
An experiment in combining random binaural positioning and delays.
Something weird and bass'y. Has some binaural effects going on as well.
A sort of general video game background track.
A crisply little cover track to Daft Punk's Emotion track.
An exercise in automating a delay to get some fun drum activity.
Scrambled and warped Janis Ian.
Digitakt drum computer and Morphagene having a bit of fun.
A track that I never really finished but it has a lot of elements that I like. Definitely inspired by Lorn.
